ATTLEBORO, MA - Jacob Ventura, Republican State Senate candidate for the vacant Norfolk Bristol County seat, has received the endorsement of Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson.
“Jacob is a reformer who advocates limited government, increased local aid, keeping our cities and towns safe from crime, and our immigration system fair. With his background and platform, he is the best candidate to run and win this special election,” Hodgson stated.
Hodgson was appointed Bristol County Sheriff in 1997, and has been a pillar of public safety both on a local and national level.
“It is an honor to receive this crucial endorsement. In my work at the State House and in the community I have had the opportunity to work closely with Sheriff Hodgson. I applaud his dedication to government efficiency and his steadfast commitment to make sure the taxpayer’s hard earned money is spent wisely. I appreciate his vote of confidence in my candidacy for State Senate,” said Ventura.
Jacob Ventura, an attorney and legislative aide for State Representative Steven Howitt , is running in the September 19 Republican primary to succeed former State Senator James Timilty. He is a member of the Wampanoag Aquinnah Tribe with Portuguese and Cape Verdean heritage.
